Press Release
Un'common is a Polish furniture brand founded in Łódź by Gosia and Maciek Korycki. From the outset, our goal has been to create furniture simple in form yet rich in meaning—furniture that will stay with the user for years. At the heart of our work is marble—a unique, unrepeatable, and demanding material, yet incredibly graceful. Present in architecture and art for centuries, it now becomes the heart of our designs. Combined with wood and steel, it allows us to create collections that are both functional and imbued with subtle elegance.
We draw inspiration from nature, but above all, from architecture – it teaches us to think about proportion, balance, and spatial harmony. We believe that furniture can be more than just a utilitarian object: it can define an interior and create its rhythm. That's why at Un'common, we combine design experience with craftsmanship and attention to detail, creating furniture that fits naturally into everyday life, accompanying its inhabitants for years to come.
All Un'common furniture is created in-house, in our studio in Łódź, under the supervision of Gosia Korycka, an architect and furniture designer. Her experience in architectural design permeates every collection, evident in the pursuit of harmony, clear proportions, and functionality.
The latest BLOCK series
BLOCK is the latest Un'common furniture series, presented during the 3 Days of Design 2025 in Copenhagen. It's an exploration of contrast and harmony – everyday furniture that combines monumental form with subtle charm. The collection's aesthetic is rooted in modernism, where simplicity and functionality meet the timeless beauty of materials. The furniture is crafted from thick board hand-veneered with natural oak veneer, and the solid carcasses are set on legs of Breccia or Fior di Bosco marble with a brushed finish. Precise craftsmanship and attention to detail ensure that BLOCK not only blends into the space but also defines it, giving interiors a distinct yet harmonious identity.
